Saganoyu is a café renovated from a traditional Japanese public bath built in the
Taisho era.
Step inside and you’ll discover charming pieces of old Japan everywhere you look.
From the colorful retro tiles and vintage brick walls
to the tall windows that make you imagine soaking in a bath while looking up at the sky,
the nostalgic atmosphere of the original space
still remains throughout the café.
Upstairs, you’ll find beautiful wooden beams called “garanbo,” along with the iconic “bandai” counter — a classic symbol of Japanese public baths!
At the back of the café, Arashiyama cookies are baked fresh every day, filling the terrace
with a sweet and toasty aroma.
Please enjoy the cozy atmosphere and
have a lovely time at Saganoyu.
